The International Rescue Instructors Association is a Standards, Certification and Accreditation body based on the objective IRIA Risk Management Matrix®.
The purpose of the International Rescue Instructors Association (IRIA) is to provide stakeholders with an unbiased system of international standards based on fact and experience.
These objective facts (proven truths) are determined and defined through ongoing, international, evidence based, in-depth, gap analysis of actual incidents /accidents and of proven successful protocols, as outlined in the IRIA Risk Management Matrix®.
IRIA supports all accepted standards and regulatory bodies. The IRIA Standards are designed both;
- As a stand alone system and;
- To be able to adapt and work within other accepted standards to further enhance their meaning and application.
It is inclusive and open to any committed person (Instructor) or organization who agrees to its simple protocols of membership.
IRIA is a virtual international Standards body, registered in Vancouver, Canada and is a not-for-profit, revenue neutral organization operated under the Laws of Canada.
It is managed by an Executive Director, and overseen by a chairperson and an advisory board that is elected annually by the professional membership. Select committees are headed by international, court recognized and experienced, subject matter experts who are the foundation of this alliance of committed professionals.
Support
In many organizations, there often is little applicable, professional support for the instructor and/or training manager.
Through a quality management process, the IRIA brings a systematic approach to research, professional standard setting, developing best practices and providing professional development opportunities to the membership.
The IRIA is a network of committed professional instructors and international subject matter experts who care deeply about their craft and who actively participate at every level of our organization.
All membership levels can volunteer and instructor members have the opportunity to participate in various committees and working groups which are established to ensure the content is cutting edge and will withstand any professional and legal scrutiny when called upon.
Through unity of purpose and structure, the impact IRIA members make together will far exceed any personal, regional agency, or nation organization impact.
